Hello World, I'm Gil Tañala Gepte
I work at the intersection of civic design, strategic planning, and community impact.
Hi! My name is Gil Oswald Zhaxael Tañala Gepte, or just Gil Gepte (pronounced “heal hepte”). But a lot of my friends call me Gead (pronounced like “Chad,” but with a “J”) — a nickname I picked up growing up in the Philippines. I know, it’s a lot of names… tell me about it, haha!
I'm a Filipino-born planner based in Washington State, with a passion for bringing bold community ideas to life through real-world projects. I focus on long-range planning, data analysis, and engagement strategies that support sustainable growth and equity.
I’ve worked with cities, counties, and tribes, contributing to comprehensive plans, equitable outreach campaigns, and strategies for housing, economic development, transportation, sustainability, and financial growth that drive systemic change.
My Specialties and Tools
I assist communities and organizations in developing and implementing comprehensive long-range plans and strategies that balance economic, social, and environmental objectives, providing a framework for sustainable growth and development.
I conduct policy analysis and development, including policy research, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, to inform policy decisions and ensure that policies are effective, efficient, and equitable.
I offer graphic design and visualization services, including data visualization and presentation design, to effectively communicate complex planning concepts and ideas to a diverse range of audiences.
I collect, clean, transform, and analyze data to help organizations gain meaningful insights from their data.
I help communities and organizations create vibrant, livable, and sustainable public spaces through urban design and place-making, incorporating principles of walkability, bikeability, and community engagement.
I design and facilitate public participation processes, including community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative decision-making, to ensure that community voices are heard and valued in planning and decision-making processes.
